Cubist Oranges

Exciting cubist influenced Swedish mid century painting of bright oranges in a blue bowl with a glass vase beside it; a very glamorous painting for a kitchen or dining room wall.

Signed G(unnar) Nordström 1921-2021. Gunnar left home at the age of 15 and worked in Stockholm as a decorator. He studied art at the Académie Libre and then with Otto Sköld for a year. He lived in Paris for two years where he must have seen works by the Cubists.
