Purple Iris

A gorgeous Swedish Mid Century still life of purple iris, set against a sultry dark background.

Signed Frithiof Berglund 1905-1973. Berglund was one of the Gothenburg Colourists, a loosely associated group sharing a love of colour.

Oil on canvas in delightful, albeit rather tired vintage frame.
