A gorgeous Swedish Mid Century still life of purple iris, set against a sultry dark background.

Signed Frithiof Berglund 1905-1973. Frithiof was one of the Gothenburg Colourists, a loosely associated group sharing a love of colour.

Oil on canvas in delightful, albeit rather tired vintage frame. (Please look at the photos carefully; I love this very distressed look but it's not for everyone.)
