Sunflowers

Stunning large Swedish painting of sunflowers in a pale green pottery vase. It’s a really exciting painting with the vibrant yellow flowers looking as if they are reaching towards the viewer, outside the canvas, giving a really feeling of depth.

Signed Birgit Hygrell (1903-1972), dated '49 who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and her work is held in the Vaästeräs Art Museum in Sweden.

Oil on canvas in a vintage deep, bleached wooden frame.
