Rolf Rosenberg 1921-2005 signed and dated '48. I have not been able to find anything about Rosenberg but look at the date, look at the name and know that it comes from Germany; beauty created after such a terrible time.
A bunch of wonderful daisies, roses and possibly lilacs and gladioli on a background of acid yellows against an aqua table. The yellow of the little elephant and the intense green shadow cast by the vase seems to make all the other colours sing out. This is one of my absolute favourites!
