Boat on the Canal

Lively and vibrant painting of a canal scene with a barge tied up to the tow path which is overhung by tall trees, Houses can be seen on the other side of the canal.

Signed Louis Zelig 1922-1993, dated '56.  Zelig trained at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest. He survived Auschwitz in WW2. After the war he emigrated to Sweden. Dated '56.
