Bertil Gunnar Wahlberg 1923-1980 signed. Wahlberg was a painter, cartoonist and graphic artist. He travelled widely in Europe following WW2. He is known for his landscapes, although he painted a large mural in a car dealership in Stockholm in 1966. He is held in several museums in Sweden
Large painting of a village by the sea. The palette is clear and vibrant and Bertil has created a wonderful sense of depth with the terraced hillside in the background and the sandy beach and clear blue sea sweeping through the painting. He has used a deep inky blue to add details to the building and the wonderful verdant trees in the foreground. Its a lovely bright painting reminiscent of hot summer holidays!
